Strike at Lorain County JFS Reaches 100 Days on Friday

UAW Local 2192 members will be available for media interviews on the JFS picket line starting at 12:00 P.M.

ELYRIA, OH – The strike at Lorain County Job and Family Services reaches a historic milestone on Friday: 100 days. UAW Local 2192 members are holding time for media availability during a special picket at the JFS building to commemorate the day.

WHEN: Friday, May 29 at 12:00 P.M.

Since February 18, 2026, workers at Lorain County Job and Family Services have been on strike. The cost to settle the JFS strike, a $1 per hour supplemental wage increase that Commissioners have refused to negotiate, would total approximately $299,520 annually. 

UAW Local 2192 members at JFS will continue to hold the line until the County decides to come back to the table to negotiate a fair deal as they did for their counterparts at Children Services.
